Inspired by the “jewelry box of the sea,” the Indigo Hotel at Qingshui Bay, Hainan, interprets the Tanka people’s millennia‑old maritime wisdom through a contemporary minimalist aesthetic, evoking the island’s serene charm and distinctive local allure. The hotel’s comprehensive design was masterfully crafted by renowned designer Mr. Yang Bangsheng and his team at YANG Design Group.
In YANG’s vision, pearl‑like lighting accents the interplay of light and shadow, while blue‑and‑white furnishings echo the hues of the island’s coral reefs, creating a sense of airy visual rhythm. The guestroom design seamlessly blends contemporary art with the Li ethnic group’s traditional rattan‑weaving techniques, vividly embodying the island philosophy of “the sea as farmland, land and island in harmonious coexistence,” lending Indigo’s “Neighbourhood Culture” a more heartfelt and aesthetically compelling local expression.
The “Guanhai” restaurant at the Indigo Hotel in Qingshui Bay, Hainan, seamlessly blends local Hainan flavors with modern culinary techniques, offering guests a creative dining experience.
